Oxeye Daisy

I am amazed at how quickly the seasons pass.

The Coltsfoot has come and gone.  I consider it the first flower of spring.  The Dandelions have covered the lawn with yellow.  And, now they too have released their fluffy seeds into the wind and disappeared.  I consider them the flowers of mid spring.

At the edge of the paths and in the middle of the fields, the Oxeye Daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare) have started to bloom.  The first days of summer are upon us.

In the normal ordering of things, the Black-eyed Susan, Chicory and New England Aster will soon arrive in step.  Is fall just around the corner???
