The forest floor is covered with Spring Beauty.
There are two varieties of Spring Beauty. The round-leaved Spring Beauty (Claytonia caroliniana), that is common. And the narrow-leaved Spring Beauty (Claytonia virginica), that is more rare.
My goal is to see if I can find the rare one. But, no such luck today.
Will have to settle for the beauty of the common spring beauty. Life is tough...
